guitars, guitars, guitars! just a little gear chat.

Just wondering what you guys are playing? Any mods? Pickups and such?

I'll start with my main two.

Jackson DKMG with a Bill Lawrence 500xl in the bridge and 500r in the neck. Push/pull coil tap and an EMG Afterburner.

(Don't Laugh!!LOL)

Squier Bullet Strat with a set of Seymour Duncan SSL-1 non RW/RP, Sperzels, graphetech nut, and a guitar fetish trem with full sized steel block. Wired with a blender mod on the third pot. I got hooked on these >$100 guitars awhile back to avoid annual refret jobs. Some seriously stratty mojo can be had if modded properly and If your selective when choosing one.

  • I want to use my Martin OM35 along with a Michael Messer Lightning Resonator as well as a Taylor 214CE and a Simon & Patrick SP6, electrically a Les Paul but also want to include a mandolin (V basic skill level) and a Sitar (basic skill level flatters it). Just got to get the Audio link sorted to hit the ground walking :)
  • I use a '54 Strat for most my leads. I have a Peavey JF-1Pro w/Duncan Vintage Blues and I play though a modified Hot Rod Deluxe. I had a 2x12 solid pine cab made and I stuffed it with 12" Eminence The Tonker speakers. Rebiased the amp and add Jellow Jackets w/ EL-84's to make in a little more controllable. I don't use pedals. It seems to get the sound I like. Oh yea, I use my acoustic a lot, it's amazing. It's a Sigma/Martin DR-41. Made in Japan. One on the best I've ever had. The Strat is a 50th Anniverary with Texas Specials.
  • I recently picked up a new baby, Fender made 500 each of 3 different colors!
