Mix server

WHY??

image

For a brief moment, I thought this had started working....

Why can't I see anything useful in the log?
Why does the log not even have time stamps?

Sigh...

  • So Harald, do your mixes ever finish? Are the participants discarding the recording (not saving or deleting it)?
  • Yes, they finish at times. Too often, they seem to sit around with "MIX QUEUED", or something similar.

As you can see, this one is a recording by just me, so no other participants to worry about. All tracks are green (=UPLOADED). So, when it tells me "MIX FAILED", what do you suggest I do next?
What does your server log have about it?

    Again -
Why can't I see anything useful in the log?
Why does the log not even have time stamps?
  • what do you suggest I do next? A) Hang tight we will take a look at the application server
  • uh...not exactly a normal response..
  • No offense intended!
I'll sit tight, like you said
  • Harald, would you happen to be using the jamblaster when this fail happens?
  • Sounds great, I'll give it a try soon.

Re. your question on the jamblaster: No, this was with a "vanilla" config.
The JB seems to have its own woes when it comes to recording; most of the time the problems start long before the mix server is invoked. If you're interested, please see my post on August 28, titled "BRITTLE".

You guys have the best, coolest & most advanced net jamming system in this side of the Universe. It just needs some fine tuning to get stable.
